We take our responsibility to monitor, evaluate, and report product safety information to regulatory authorities with the highest level of diligence and integrity. At Searle, every employee shares a collective responsibility to safeguard patient well-being and to meet regulatory requirements by ensuring that all relevant safety information related to our products is accurately documented and communicated.

Searle Pharmacovigilance Philosophy

At Searle, we consider patient safety a fundamental part of our business principles. The goal of pharmacovigilance is to protect public health by identifying, assessing, and minimizing potential safety concerns in every possible way. Every Searle medicine undergoes comprehensive safety monitoring and evaluation throughout its entire lifecycle.

We strongly encourage both consumers and healthcare professionals to report any discomfort or adverse events experienced after using or administering any Searle product.

What needs to be reported to us?

All medicines carry both benefits and risks. The Pharmacovigilance department plays a critical role in protecting patient safety by continuously monitoring and evaluating information from patients, healthcare professionals, and the public to ensure that the benefits of medicines exceed their risks.

Some of the information collected includes:

  • Side effects to medicines
  • Medicine use during pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Overdose, misuse, or abuse of medicines
  • Product quality or complaint reports
  • Reduced or lack of effectiveness
  • Medication errors or administration issues

How to Report

If you experience a side effect or any unexpected reaction from a Searle medicine, please consult the healthcare professional who prescribed the medicine or speak with your pharmacist as soon as possible.

To help us process your information promptly, please provide as much relevant information as possible, ideally within 24 hours. At a minimum, include the following:

  • Patient details: Initials and/or other identifiers (e.g., gender, date of birth)
  • Reporter contact information
  • Description of the side effect: Signs, symptoms, date of onset, and outcome
  • Name of the Searle product
