The first ever manufacturing license based on formulation was acquired in 1976 as Merck Sharp & Dhome, Pakistan.
In 2008, it was acquired by OBS & in continuation of its rapid pace of expansions, in June 2009, further signed a strategic alliance with Merck & Co. Inc., USA to acquire certain MSD brands in Pakistan & Sri Lanka.
Later on, dedicated Hormonal section was established and it is One of the earliest local facilities to introduce and commercialize Hormonal soft gelatin capsule technology.
In 2019 it was acquired by IBL group and named as Searle Pakistan Limited. It is a leading pharmaceutical company with strong presence in several countries including Pakistan.
